MOTION NO. 3

MOTION: Councillor L. Dunne

"That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to immediately remove the boulder that was damaged by a robbed car at the Bridge at the stream in Jobstown and to look at alternative measures to stop robbed cars from accessing the area."

REPORT:

"The location in question here at Jobstown has been examined and a number of similar locations have also been identified where boulders are currently being used to control access in the area.  It is essential that such control measures remain in place however.  An alternative solution to the use of boulders will be identified and implemented in the area.  It may be possible to replace the existing boulders with large precast concrete bollards. This proposal is currently being considered as an alternative to the existing boulders."
