NTA Allocations and Projects
REPLY:
NTA Allocation 2018 and progress to date.
The National Transport Authority (NTA) has approved funding for the following schemes for 2018;
Because the scheme is in a national primary route, a copy of the scheme including drawings, updated design report and Safety Audits was sent to Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) for their approval. After consultation, TII have indicated their support for the scheme concept. Further discussions will need to take place with the NTA as the current allocation is insufficient to complete the scheme.
Tallaght Town Centre-Cycle Facilities €100,000
NTA have agreed to fund the design works for the Belgard Square (North) to Cookstown Link Road.
Preliminary design received from consultants and sent to NTA for approval, which has since been granted. Scheme to be presented to the Clondalkin ACM on 16th April 2018. The scheme will then be advertised in accordance with Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act.
The Dodder Scheme was subjected to a Part 8 process in 2017 and was approved at the October County Council Meeting. The allocation granted will be used to employ consultants to carry out the Detailed Design and preparation of Tender Documents. Tenders are currently being sought for the procurement of a Consultant.
Pre-clarification meeting held with the successful Tenderer on 27th March. Clarifications being sought. It is anticipated that a Contractor will commence works on site mid May 2018 and completion expected in Autumn 2018.
In accordance with Part 8 of the Planning and Development regulations, 2001 to 2015, the scheme was presented and approved at the June County Council Meeting 2016. Phase 1 was substantially completed in 2017. Tenders for the remainder of the Works (Phase 2) will commence once final agreement has been reached with the NTA and the current allocation should facilitate completion of these works.
The allocation granted will be used to employ consultants to carry out the preliminary design. It is expected that the Part 8 process will commence late Summer 2018 and be completed by end 2018.
Grange Road cycle route was subjected to a Part 8 process in 2017 and was approved at the October County Council Meeting. The allocation will be used to employ Consultants to complete the detailed design and tender documents. It is hoped to tender for the Works in late 2018.
