QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the complaints made regarding Muckross Green, including damage to the green, a skip blocking the right of way of a laneway, dumping/littering and the opening of access to a cul de sac from the Shelton side, and to make a statement on these matters?"

REPLY:

"The issue of the opening of an access from a development onto a laneway at Muckross/Shelton was examined by the Council's Planning section in April.  The development of the access was deemed by Planning to be exempted development and therefore not a matter for the Planning Authority to pursue.  A response was issued in this regard to the complainant in the matter.

The location has been inspected recently in relation to the skip which had been reported blocking a laneway and it was found that the skip has now been removed.  The green space at Muckross Green was also examined and no damage could be found.  The issue of illegal dumping in the area has been referred to the Council's litter enforcement section for examination."
