MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

"That this Committee give an update in fines issued in relation to the car park at the Steering Wheel.  Has SDCC written to the owner requesting clean up of the site"

REPORT:

The Council's Litter Warden Service patrols Clondalkin Village on a regular basis and investigates instances of littering and illegal dumping.

Fixed penalty notices are issues whenever there is adequate evidence.

While it is not proposed to outline specific details relating to persons/ entities, to date in 2018 (up to 12th April), a total of nine notices and two fines in respect of businesses in Clondalkin.

As previously advised to the Area Committee, the Litter Warden assigned to the Clondalkin area is in discussion with the new owners of Steering Wheel in relation to obligations under the Litter Pollution Act 1997, as amended and the Litter Byelaws.
