QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the former RIC Barracks on Nangor Road, Clondalkin.  

Has the time period elapsed after which the property reverts to the ownership of the Council?  

If the property is owned by the Council, could it be earmarked for use by the community as a meeting place, an exhibition space or possible a base for voluntary groups such as Tidy Towns or Clondalkin Men's Shed?"

REPLY:

As you are aware a Section 11 Notice was issued to the registered owner who is in absentia.  The file was closed on the 16th January 2018 and no notices are currently running from derelict sites.  There are no proposals to compulsory purchase the site and this would be a matter for the Development Department and therefore the site remains in private ownership.
