QUESTION NO. 2

QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

"To ask the Chief Executive to issue a report on the important Heritage Site of St. Cuthbert's Church, what grants have been applied to restore or keep it preserved? What work has been carried out on this important historical landmark?"

REPLY:

No works have been carried out to St. Cuthbert’s Church to date. The site was identified during the housing scheme being proposed with regard to an overall scheme and improved works within the parklands. Until an overall plan is agreed in collaboration with a number of Council Departments, the site is not included in any current work programme under special architectural conservation projects. Any works to the existing church and surrounding area needs to be done in conjunction with an overall sustainable plan and design for the Park.
