MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE

MOTION NO. 16

MOTION: Councillor D. O'Brien

"That this Area Committee, noting funding has been approved for a new fencing to be erected between the Lucan Newlands Road and Abbeywood Court after my motion below, update on when this fence will be installed and can the plans be supplied so I can pass them on to the residents in the area."

 55634  (M17 - Lucan ACM, April 2017 - Cllr D. O' Brien).

"This Area committee calls on the Council to install a new fence at the end of the Lucan Newlands road at the laneway leading to the R136. Between Glen Vale and Abbeywood Estate's. The current fence is not fit for purpose and there is a lot of anti-social behaviour in the area with people jumping over the fence."

REPORT:

The proposed boundary treatment at this location involves the retention of the existing wall and railing and the construction of a new railing located 2 to 3 meters north of existing boundary line. The railing will run from the boundary wall of the last property at Abbeywood Court to the R136 boundary railing. The railing will be 2.2 metres high with flat bar (10 x 50mm) infills. It is proposed to tender for the supply and installation of the railing in Q2.
