QUESTION: Councillor Emma Hendrick

"The Brookfield Youth and Community Centre is back functioning in a very limited capacity.  To ask the Chief Executive who is working in the BYCC to take care of the daily upkeep and maintenance?  Is this person a council employee and what is their title and duties?"

REPLY:

"The Brookfield Youth & Community Centre continues to facilitate the delivery of services to Young People supported by DDLETB and Fóroige staff. The operational /daily upkeep of the Centre is supported by the Community Services team. We have engaged the services of the Council's security company to carry out front of house access and to ensure the safety of staff and Young People. The cleaning /hygiene needs are being addressed by the anchor tenants.

These temporary measures have been put in place to ensure that basic services can continue and that funding streams are protected during this period of change. A new company will be formed and it will be their sole responsibilty to recruit staff to ensure the delivery of quality services in the Brookfield Centre."
