QUESTION NO. 10

QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the CEO to outline actions being taken to minimise disruption to Tallaght Stadium events during the Building Programme of the new Stand which is currently under construction and in reporting will he also confirm the schedule now being followed in respect of the project and will he make a statement?"

REPLY: 

"The construction of the new South Stand at Tallaght Stadium has commenced, with the building contractor, ABM Design & Build Ltd. on site.  The new stand will be a single tier structure, with 2,183 spectator seats, to be built along the southern end of Tallaght Stadium.

It is anticipated that there will be minimal disruption to events being held in the Stadium during the Construction of the stand, as there are regular site meetings between the Construction Company, Design Architects and the Tallaght Stadium Manager, on behalf of the Council. These regular site meetings will review progress and manage the delivery of materials to the site, as well as the actual construction works, to minimise the potential for disruption to the numerous events taking place in the Stadium. There are also regular meetings with the Garda Siochana prior to events taking place in the Stadium, to ensure any disruption to events being held at the Stadium, is minimised. As always Health and Safety issues will be monitored closely.

It is anticipated that the new stand will be completed, by the contractor, in September 2018."
