QUESTION NO. 13

QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the CEO if he would now take immediate and effective action in respect of the derelict state of the Gallaher's Site at Airton Road/Greenhills Road; will he appreciate the concern of the Tallaght community in respect of the Site which creates a very poor image on one of the main entrances to Tallaght and will he also note that there have been a number of fires recently in the premises and will he outline actions open to him?"

REPLY:

The Council has continued to engage with the property management company for the former Gallagher site since the last update was provided to the Area Committee Meeting in March 2017 and through Membersnet enquiries. Significant progress has been made and a new fence and gates have been erected along Airton Road, new fencing provided along the entire site and the site is now secure at an inspection carried out on 14th March, 2018.

The Property Manager continues to co-operate with Enforcement & Licencing in regard to keeping the site safe and when contacted was not aware of any fire at the site on 5th February 2018. He has been made aware of the concerns on this site and will update the owners.
