Public Realm Improvement Works Programme 2018

REPLY:

Provision has been made by the Chief Executive in the 2018 budget for the carrying out of small improvement works in parks and open space areas around the County such as the laying of new paths, pitch improvement works, installation of lighting on open spaces, roundabout improvements and other works.  Those works proposed to take place in the Tallaght area in 2018 are listed below.  These proposals have been compiled from issues raised as agenda items at area committee meetings throughout the course of the year, as well as undertakings given in response to members representations throughout the year.  It should be noted that the list provided does not include those works which have already been included in the Council's three year rolling capital works programme, it includes only those works of a small scale which are to be funded from the revenue budget.   

  1. Install public lighting on pathway from Raheen to Whitebrook
  2. Install short footpath from the bus stop on Killinarden Heights across the green space towards Hazelgrove Estate
  3. Surfacing of footpaths in Sean Walsh Park extension.
  4. Erect 1.2m fence to resolve the ongoing issue of cars, quads and scramblers cutting across the green space from Sundale Grove onto Russell Lawns."
  5. Public lighting on new path on open space at Lanndale Lawn
  6. Replacement of timber bollards at Avonmore Park, Avonmore Grove and Bolbrook Grove
  7. Erect palisade fencing at Brady’s field/St Maelruans boundary
  8. Measures to prevent access and illegal dumping at Basketball Arena road to both Tymon park and Balrothery estate.
  9. Install tarmac pathway required between Bancroft Park and the south side of Westpark Fitness Centre
  10. Roundabout planting upgrade at Belgard Sq North/Belgard Sq East junction.
  11. Provide footpath across main green space in Belgard heights (2 locations between Meadows East and West)
  12. Develop pedestrian entrance from Springbank Estate to Rathcoole Park (provisional)
  13. Install a perimeter pathway on the green space at Kilnamanagh which adjoins the M50.
