QUESTION NO. 17

QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

"That this Committee requests the Chief Executive engage with the NTA to re-examine the road design along the N4 particularly between the Leixlip junction and the Adamstown junction inbound. With the increase traffic along this stretch and the congestion at junction 4A slip road the traffic is sitting in the left lane on the N4. Also the speed limit reduces rapidly (from 120 to 80) causes a concern. There is also a slight bend along this stretch."

REPLY:

This road is under the management of Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

The speed limits were reviewed as part of the countywide speed limit review undertaken in 2016/2017. No change was made to the mainline speed limits of 120 km/h and 80 km/h.

TII will be made aware of the concerns expressed.
