QUESTION NO. 10

QUESTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the timescale for the provision of the swimming pool at Griffeen Valley Park, Lucan to ensure this is still on track; and if a statement can be made on the matter?"

REPLY:

The Fire Safety and Disability Access Certificate applications were submitted on 13^th October.

The Fire Safety Officer in Dublin City has requested a second extension of time for his decision on the fire safety cert application. The new date for a decision is mid-February. This process has to be completed before the tender documents can be finalised for issue. This will take a minimum of six weeks, which revises the tender date to the end of March.

The tender process will take six weeks to complete.

On conclusion of the tender process a Tender Report will be prepared and issued to the Department of Transport Tourism and Sport for final approval.  

Once this approval is received the Contractor will be appointed and work will begin. This start date is dependent on the Departments approval but is estimated at June/July 2018.

The project will take 12 – 18months to complete and fit out ready for operation by the end of 2019.
