QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor E. O'Brien
"To ask the Chief Executive to confirm when tree pruning scheduled to take place in Ardeevin estate and Ballydowd/Roselawn but prevented due to the proximity of electricity cables will now take place?"
REPLY:
The Council’s tree maintenance crew carried out a planned programme of tree pruning and removal works in Ardeevin estate during 2017. Some trees remain outstanding for completion due to their proximity to overhead electricity wires. Works on these trees require to be undertaken by an arborist suitably qualified in the skills of utility arboriculture and approved by the ESB to undertake tree maintenance on trees in conflict with electricity wires. A tender process has been completed and contract arrangements are being finalised to complete these outstanding works within the next two months at Ardeevin estate and other locations in the Lucan /Palmerstown area including Ballydowd Grove and Roselawn where committments have been made in regard to trees in conflict with overhead electricity wires.
