QUESTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on discussions and progress made to provide a facility for Esker Boxing club on the lands off Willsbrook Road and furthermore to indicate whether any expressions of interest have been made to date in relation to utlising the remainder of the site for an addition community amenity?"

REPLY:

The Council has met with the club on a number of occasions and has offered advice in relation to funding for a facility. The most recent of these meetings took place in December 17.

Esker Boxing club has received planning permission for the Council owned site under planning register reference SD17A/0083, the Community department has not received any express of interest from another group to use this site. There is an SLO attached to the site in the County Development Plan requiring car parking and turnaround space which has to be delivered in the first instance.
