QUESTION NO. 15
QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle
"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on previous requests for installation ´no littering´ and ´no dumping´ signage at Lucan Road, opposite St. Josephs College in the vicinity of the bus stop and steps down to Sarsfield Park. (Note: previous membereps 1260471 & 1272883 refer)."
REPLY:
6 “no dumping” signs were erected along the steps between Lucan Road and Chapel Hill. 5 of the signs are still present and visible on the lighting columns located on the steps. The 6th sign was vandalised and found lying in the shrubs to the side of the steps. Due to the presence of the bin beside the bus stop it was not considered necessary at the time to erect a “no littering” sign. There is some litter on the open space side of the wall at the bus stop. The litter appears to have been there for some time and arrangements are currently being made to have this area cleaned up.
