"Noting work being carried out at King Johns Bridge as part of the 300K Have Your Say programme that this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to carry out cleansing and ancillary environmental works at the Old Church in ruins at Esker Glebe as an extension a future heritage trail."

REPORT:

The Old Church at Esker Glebe is listed as a Protected Structure in the County Development Plan 2016-2022. It is identified as Esker Church and described as a “stone church (Ruin), Monument and Graveyard (RM)”. The RM denotes that it is a recorded monument.

The Public Realm Section will liaise with the Councils Conservation Officer in relation to assessing the site with a view to determining the most appropriate course of action for the future maintenance and upkeep of the Protected Structure.
