QUESTION NO. 4

QUESTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

"To ask the Chief Executive for an interim report on the number of submissions received under the Clonburris SDZ and to outline when the full response from the Council with proposed amendments will be reported to members and made available publicly, so that the elected members can begin consultations with residents, community groups and other stakeholders with a view to tabling amendments if necessary?"

REPLY:

The Clonburris Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) draft Planning Scheme (the draft Scheme) was on public consultation for a six (6) week period between 22nd September 2017 and 3rd November 2017. Extensive public engagement was carried out during this period culminating in over six hundred (600) submissions being received via the Communications Portal and by post.

The Chief Executive’s Report (the Report) on the submissions is currently being prepared. On 14^th December 2017, the Report, will be issued to the Elected Members. On the 15^th of December 2017, the Elected Members will be briefed on the Report. At the briefing the dates for submitting motions, preparation of responses and dates in January 2018 for the special Council Meetings to consider the Report will be addressed. The Report will include a summary of the issues raised in the submissions, the Chief Executive’s Response and Recommendations. The Report is prepared for and issued to the Elected Members. The Report is not available to the public until after it has been discussed at the special Council Meetings.

If the Elected Members resolve to make material alterations to the draft Scheme further public consultation will be carried out.
