MOTION NO.8

MOTION: Councillor D. O'Donovan

"That the Chief Executive includes a full upgrade of the area known as 'Dolly's Field' in the Moyville Estate in the Public Realm Expenditure Budget for 2018.  Members of the Residents Association have met with SDCC officials to outline a list of proposed works, including a perimeter path and adult exercise equipment."

REPORT:

"A meeting took place earlier in the year between Moyville Residents and the Council's Public Realm Section at which these matters were discussed.  A number of items were requested which can be included in the maintenance programme for 2018, such as the cutting back of hedgerows for example.  The larger items such as the development of a perimeter path and the installation of outdoor exercise equipment would involve substantial expenditure and in any case should be the subject of a detailed design for the area in question.  The need for such a design has been raised with the staff responsible for the planning and design of capital projects within the Public Realm Section.  The matter will be considered further in the context of the improvement works programme for 2018, to determine if any element of the desired improvements can be included as a stand-alone item in that programme."
