MOTION NO.2

MOTION: Councillor P. Donovan

"That this Area Committee calls for this Council to engage with TII to undertake a Transport Assessment & Strategy for the Rathfarnham - Ballycullen area to compliment the forward plan traffic assessment currently under development by the Council.  This movement plan would serve to address gaps in public transport and highlight opportunities for junction upgrades."

REPORT:

"SDCC engages with the NTA (not TII) on an ongoing basis in relation to transport movement and developing the effective management of traffic and public transport demand.

The report presented at the March 2017 Area Committee meeting (HI 4) outlines what governs transport and mobility policy in South Dublin.

Following motions passed at previous Area Committee Meetings invitations have been extended to the NTA to make a presentation to the Committee on ongoing transport needs including a possible Metro link. Responses are still awaited to these invitations."
