QUESTION NO.9

QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Chief Executive if, through the Library Services, he will arrange for a Heritage Walk in the Greenhills/Tymon area following substantial expressions of interest locally; if he would be willing to provide similar services in other areas not covered during Heritage Month, and to make a statement on the matter?"

REPLY:

"As part of the South Dublin County History and Heritage series of walks and talks this year, a very successful 7km looped walk took place, taking in Tallaght Village, the site of Tymon Castle, the City Weir and the Dodder Valley Park among other varied walks around the county. Planning for the next series of walks and talks will take place around February 2018 and the Library service are happy to take on board suggestions that could be included for next year. The more historical content attached to the site or area proposed makes for an exciting educational talk or walk. Suggestions could be made to the local studies department of the library service."
