MOTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

Mayors Business

That this Council calls on the Taoiseach, the Minister for Justice and the Minister for Foreign Affairs to initiate a wide-ranging but rapid review of immigration policy, including a potential role for the Citizens’ Assembly, so that we can modernise our approach and develop a more clearly defined quota-based system of work permits for non-EU migrants in the future.

REPORT:

If the Motion is passed a letter will issue to An Taoiseach and appropriate Ministers and when a reply is received, it will be issued to the Members.
