QUESTION: Councillor B. Leech

"To ask the Chief Executive what number of fines and prosecutions have been issued to tenants who continue to dump domestic waste on our parks and green spaces?"

REPLY:

It is not possible to provide the specific detail as requested (fines issued to tenants).  

To date in 2017 a total of 262 fines have issued in respect of illegal dumping / littering.

121 files were referred through our Law Department and 52 cases have been listed for court.  31 cases were heard, of which 19 were successful.
