QUESTION 48
QUESTION: Cllr. Karen Warren
To ask the Manager to set out the average cost in terms of the construction of the ramps (traffic platform) in the administrative area of South Dublin County Council, the total number of ramps built by the Council over the past three years and how the average prices in South Dublin compares to prices in other parts of the Country and if he will make a statement on the matter?
REPLY:
The total number of standard traffic calming ramps constructed to date since 2003 is 361.
The current Traffic Calming Programme provides for the installation of Traffic Calming measures in 40 separate locations across the Council's administrative area.
These schemes are subject to the public procurement regulations. The average cost of a standard ramp is €4,000. This is in keeping with the price of ramps in the Dublin region.
