MOTION: Councillor V. Casserly

"To call on the Chief Executive to give an update regarding Tree Management Programme for Hillcrest Estate. A commitment was given for a report to be presented to area committee in the first 6 months of 2016 on tree audit and suitability for the estate. I understand it is included in the programme but residents are keen for this to be prioritised."

REPORT:

Hillcrest estate is listed on the Council’s 2017 Tree Maintenance Programme. In advance of works being scheduled, a full survey of all trees in the estate will be undertaken. Arising from the survey, any works considered necessary will be carried out as part of the 2017 Tree Maintenance Programme.

When the tree survey has been completed and in advance of works commencing, it is planned to publish on the Council’s website www.sdcc.ie, the locations and details of tree maintenance works to be carried within the estate. This will enable elected Members and residents to access the details of tree works planned for a particular location.

The completion of outstanding works from the 2016 Tree Maintenance Programme is currently being prioritised and it is envisaged that the tree survey and any ensuing works will be carried out at Hillcrest estate in the second half of 2017.
