QUESTION: Councillor D. O'Brien
"To ask the Chief Executive for a report on the timescale for all the winning projects from the Have Your Say vote to be completed.
This report will also have the area were the projects below will be placed;
Planting Native Apple Trees, Lucan Electoral Area
Free Library Book Banks in Public Places – Lucan Electoral Area
Multi-Games Wall in Lucan."
REPLY:
Following the public vote, the eight projects below were successful and will be impletemented by South Dublin County Council within a 12 month period with effect from the 1st June 2017. Some projects will require a more detailed assessment and consultation and at this stage we haven’t assessed definitive timelines for all projects. Possible locations for the three projects referred to in the question are currently being considered and further information will be communicated when available. A consultation process has commenced on the project with the most public votes which was the playground for Waterstown Park. A questionnaire is being delivered to primary schools in Palmerstown and to local community groups. It is designed to get feedback as to what people want from any new play facility. The questionnaires should be completed and returned to Waterstownplayground@gmail.com or dropped in to Palmerstown Community Centre by 30 June 2017.
