This committee recognises the continuous work carried out by the department in relation to footpath repairs. This committee asks the Chief Executive to provide a detail report on the average response time from initial notification to completion. Also to report on the number of footpath repairs that remain outstanding in LEA to date.

REPORT:

The Annual Roadworks Programme is compiled towards the end of the year and presented to the members for approval early in the New Year. The programme will consist of path repairs that have been requested or notified to the Road Maintenance Section throughout that year. In addition to the programmed works, repairs are carried out on an emergency basis where a one-off defect or trip hazard has been identified.

In 2017, footpath repairs have been commenced on the following roads / estates:

Kennelsfort Road, Ardeevin Estate, Riverside Estate, Woodville Estate, Wheatfield Estate. Tenders for the remaining schemes on the Roadworks Programme are currently being compiled and contractors will be appointed shortly.
