QUESTION NO. 8

QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

"To ask the Chief Executive to report on what steps have been taken to ensure/stop the practice that cars are not being repaired or stored on public roads which is a source of serious concern to local residents, a health hazard and undermines the residential nature of the area and adjacent roads?"

REPLY:

The cars referred to are parked on a public road and outside the jurisdiction of the Council. Parking at this location is illegal as there is a continuous white line there. Enforcement is a matter for the Gardaí.

The issues have been referred to the Council's Traffic Section with a request that the issue of the car parking on Haydens Lane be raised with the Gardaí at their monthly Traffic Management meeting.

The Councils Estate Management section will interview the tenants adjacent to see if any of them are involved in the activity and to advise them of the need to keep the area clean and litter free as well as not parking illegally on the road.
