Weston Aerodrome
South Dublin County Council (SDCC) intends to facilitate a public consultation and review of the land use planning framework governing the future development and operation of Weston Aerodrome with reference to changing European safety requirements, economic development opportunities for the County and the impact on neighbouring residential communities. This shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of Policy IE9 Objective 6 of the South Dublin County Development Plan 2016 – 2022.
In order to initiate a review of the land use planning framework governing the future development and operation of Weston Aerodrome, SDCC shall engage in consultation with the public, statutory consultees and stakeholder bodies on critical issues to be addressed. This will include relevant statutory bodies responsible for the control and safety of operations at Weston Aerodrome.
The consultation period will take place over a six week period and will involve the following steps;
All submissions / observations shall be read, analysed and summarised in a Planning Framework report, which will be issued for noting at the November 2017 Land Use, Planning and Transportation SPC meeting. The issues raised in the submissions received will play a significant role in guiding the review of the land use planning framework governing the future development and operation of Weston Aerodrome.
