QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor L. Dunne
"To ask the Chief Executive to have recycling facilities situated on the grounds of Fortunestown shops?"
REPLY:
In accordance with the current Community Recycling Strategy it is the Counci's aim to substantially increase the number of bring bank sites in the County over the next few years. The site referred to here at Fortunestown shops is considered to be suitable in many respects in that it has good unrestricted access, available space and adequate parking at the site. In order for a bring bank facility to be established at this location it will be necessary to consult on the matter with the owners/occupiers of the commercial units on the site. It will also be necessary to consult with the owners/occupiers of any dwellings which lie within 50 metres of the proposed location. Ownership of the land will have to be established and consent obtained, before the proposal can be advanced. This process has now commenced.
