QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive to confirm how many Residents Association/Community Groups in the Tallaght area are registered with the Council and in reporting will he state what actions are available to him to encourage positive activities by such Groups?"

REPLY:

Residents Associations/Community/Sports/Environmental Groups are registered with the Council and the newly established PPN and contacts updated on a regular basis.  Information is circulated via the Council Website, newsfeeds, social media and through the various mechanisms of the PPN. 

The Council has dedicated experienced  Community and Sports Development and Social Inclusion Officerswho interact on a daily basis with the  community organisations and support their activities and encourage new activities.  They also work in communities to encourage the set up of new organisations where need is idenitified.

Workshops are held throughout the county to advise of the assistance available on a regular basis.
