MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor L. Dunne

"That this Committee asks the Chief Executive to install railings on top of the low walls on Russell Downs, Meadows and the Grove.  Additionally, to have the loose bricks fixed on these walls."

REPORT:

The Estate Management Section have had discussions around imporvements to the estate with the newly formed Russell Square Residents Association in recent weeks.  the Council has agreed to provide paint, plants, compost, bags, brushes, gloves and other essentials for clean up days.

General Estate improvements were also discussed including the walls at these locations which are almost 7 feet high.  It was agreed that these are not a priority for railings. However we can arrange for the replacement of loose bricks and this will be arranged in the near future.  The areas in question Russell Downs /Grove has no Council Housing and Russell Meadows has a mix of Private,Voluntary and Council Housing.
