QUESTION NO.7
QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle
To ask the Chief Executive for a report on the usage to date by this Council of electronically-controlled, time-specific locking mechanisms on pedestrian gates to public parks?
REPLY:
In general the pedestrian accesses to parks within the County remain open at all times. There are some exceptions to this, including a small number of locations where pedestrian accesses are electronically controlled by time switch. Accesses to Rathfarnham Castle Park are controlled in such a manner, as is one pedestrian access to Glenaulin Park. These measures have been necessary to deal with specific problems at these locations and are executed on a case by case basis.
