South Dublin County Joint Policing Committee Report
The South Dublin County Joint Policing Committee met on Friday 27th January 2017 in County Hall, Tallaght

The following is summary of business of the JPC:
1 Garda Reports
Reports were circulated by Chief Superintendent Orla McPartlin on behalf of the DMRS region and by Chief Superintendent Lorraine Wheatley on behalf of the DMRW region.
Questions and comments raised included:
2 Neighbourhood Watch
A Report was discussed which covered text alert and Neighbourhood Watch schemes. It was agreed to have a presentation at the next JPC meeting.
A request was made to set up a Local Policing Forum in the Rathfarnham area and the Gardaí agreed to progress this further.
3 South Dublin County Joint Policing Committee Strategic Plan 2016-2022
To be considered at the May JPC
4 Scramblers
An update on work carried out since the last meeting was given with the leaflet and video being produced. Letters had been sent to the JPC Chairs in the greater Dublin area. The matter had also been raised in the Dail by the Minister for Transport.
5 JPCs and Local authorities and consequences of recreational drug use
The request from Safer Blanchardstown to raise this issue at the JPC was received and the short video was shown.
6 Local Policing Fora Report
The joint report was circulated on behalf of the four local policing fora in Clondalkin, D12, North Clondalkin and Tallaght:
Clondalkin LPF: The Clondalkin section of the report was noted.
D12 LPF: The D12 section of the report was noted.
North Clondalkin LPF: The North Clondalkin Report covered:
West Tallaght LPF: A meeting of the Management Committee has been held and they will be looking at holding a public meeting on the 14th March 2017 in Killinarden Community Centre.
7 JPC Subgroups
JPC Drug subcommittee: A brief update on the launch of the Subcommittee was given and it was reported that a fuller report would come to the next JPC on the areas of work the subcommittee could be involved in.
8 Any Other Business
Kilnamanagh Neighbourhood Watch: The JPC Chair was invited and would be happy to attend their next meeting
9 Upcoming JPC Meetings
The next meeting is set for: Friday 26th May 2017
