Cost of 3d Model of Hellfire Project.

 

Since the last Area Committee meeting, the Dublin Mountains Project team has explored options for sourcing a physical model of the proposed project through both the traditional architectural models and models developed using the newer technology of 3D printing.

As a result, it is considered that the 3D printing method will provide a model that will address the concerns of this Committee in relation to value for money as it represents a significantly more affordable option than traditional architectural models.  Two 3D generated models, one at a scale of 1:1000 showing the overall features of the project and and a second showing the detail of the building elements of the project will cost approximately €25,000 to €30,000.  These models will be effective in providing a detailed representation of the project plans when finalised as well as being more accessible to the public. 

Once commissioned the timeframe for production of the models will be in the region of 3-4 weeks.
