MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to present a detailed report, for discussion, on implementation of the multi-annual programme of enhancements to Willsbrook Park as approved at the October 2015 meeting of this Committee."

REPORT:

"Further to the report as presented to the Lucan Area Committee Meeting in October 2015 the following is a list of works undertaken to date:

  1. Dangerous/fallen trees removed from Woodland area and Willsbrook Road side of park.
  2. New entrance installed at junction of Esker Lane/Park
  3. All paths edged
  4. All path swept
  5. Survey of all trees in park undertaken
  6. New bin installed at Willsbrook Road entrance to park.
  7. Vandalised section the wall in the Walled Garden repaired.

Works that are planned to take place in the 2017:

  1. Pruning and thinning of vegetation alongside paths at junctions where they meet other paths or at bends. This will be most evident on the paths in the vicinity of the pedestrian entrance opposite Bewley estate.
  2. Preparation of tender for tree works following survey.
  3. Installation of 2 new bins at either side of footbridge that crosses N4.
  4. Provision of new kissing gate at Esker Lane entrance.
  5. Surfacing of new entrance path at Esker Lane/Park.
  6. Installation of hard standings under seating."
