MOTION: Councillor E. O'Brien

"That the Chief Executive noting the lack of a remediation scheme for residents suffering serious structural damage to homes in circumstances where those responsible for construction are no longer a going concern calls on the Minister for Housing to introduce such a scheme and to meet with residents of any such estate in the Lucan area to discuss potential assistance available from this Local Authority whilst such scheme is considered."

REPORT:

"The only National Remediation Scheme currently in place in is respect of pyrite, this Council is not aware of any other scheme addressing structural damage being developed or under discussion. Should the motion be passed, its terms will be conveyed to the Minister and any response will be brought to the attention of members."
