QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor M. Ward
"What discussions have and what plans have South Dublin County Council made to achieve the Purple Flag status for its evening and late night economy in its villages and across the county?"
REPLY:
As part of the Council's Tourism Strategy, the County Promotion Unit is currently finalising a tourism marketing strategy and implementation plan which will include the launch of marketing campaign, logo, website and collaterals in Q1 2017. A directory of things to do and of places to visit, eat & socialise in the various towns and villages of the County will form part of the marketing material. A natural progression from this will be to examine the potential of Clondalkin and other appropriate town centres in the County to meet the requirements of the Purple Flag and pursue applications which would further benefit the promotion and marketing of the County as appropriate.
