MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor M. Ward

"This Committee agrees that the Chief Executive  secures a playing pitch and an equipment storage unit for St Anthony's Football Club whilst their pitch is unavailable due to the laying of a water main linking the existing reservoirs at Peamount and at Saggart. The route will cross the N7 near Avoca at Rathcoole and then go through Rathcoole Park making St Anthony's pitch unplayable for the minimum of a season."

REPORT:

The Council is not, as yet, aware to the full extent of the potential impact on pitch(s) at Rathcoole Park (Nos.64/65/66) as a result of the proposed Leixlip to Saggart watermain pipeline.

Similarly, as there is no determined commencement date for the Leixlip Saggart pipeline scheme, it is somewhat premature to have determined an alternative location. When the council has more definite project timelines meetings will be held to update clubs affected.

Notwithstanding the above, every effort is made to accommodate clubs who for various reasons may be required to relocate from pitches generally allocated to them on an annual basis.
