MOTION: Councillor P. Gogarty
That the Manager, following the meeting on 29th September between Airlie Heights residents' representatives and Lucan United on issues pertaining to the proposed all-weather facility, now urgently arranges a process of direct engagement with residents representatives and the community at large, including sit down meetings with elected reps present, so as to provide full information on the process and agree additional licensing conditions and traffic management measures that will help satisfy their very real concerns also and help kick start a three way monitoring system; or to report on same if it has already commenced.
REPORT:
"The recent meeting (29th September 2016) took a format that questions were presented in full at the beginning of the meeting by representatives from Airlie Heights residents and were responded to by Lucan Utd.
In summary it appears that the following items raised require consideration by the Council:
The Council is working through these issues at present to provide a response and understand that the Club are doing likewise in respect of a number of issues to be dealt with by them. When these are all fully issued a second facilitated meeting will be held.
In relation to registration of associations / committees, South Dublin County Council’s community development team work with groups that are just forming and/or not yet constructed in a formal way and encourage them to form themselves into associations, community councils, companies etc., which ever best suits them and advise them on their responsibilities. These groups are also encouraged to register with the Public Participative Network (PPN)."
