MOTION: Councillor E. O'Brien
“That this Area Committee, noting the recently convened meeting between representatives of Lucan United Football Club and the Airlie Heights Residents Action Group (“the action group”) , and further noting the responses of Lucan United Football Club to queries raised by the action group, calls on the Manager to clarify the outstanding issues arising from the meeting including but not limited to:-

The use or otherwise of the all- weather pitch facility by groups or individuals other than Lucan United Football Club
The proposal to plant trees around the entire perimeter of the all- weather pitch facility
REPORT:
"The recent meeting (29th September 2016) took a format that questions were presented in full at the beginning of the meeting by representatives from Airlie Heights residents and were responded to by Lucan Utd.
In summary, it appears that the following items raised require consideration by the Council:
The Council is working through these issues at present to provide a response and understand that the Club are doing likewise in respect of a number of issues to be dealt with by them. When these are all fully issued a second facilitated meeting will be held.
In relation to registration of associations / committees which was also raised, South Dublin County Council’s community development team work with groups that are just forming and/or not yet constructed in a formal way and encourage them to form themselves into associations, community councils, companies etc., which ever best suits them and advise them on their responsibilities. These groups are also encouraged to register with the Public Participative Network (PPN)."
