MOTION NO. 1

MOTION: Councillor L. Dunne

"That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to reposition the camera that is on Fortunestown Road and instead for it to face onto Russell Avenue. This entrance to the estate has become a black spot for illegal dumping."

REPORT:

"There is a Community CCTV Scheme in operation in parts of Tallaght.  This was funded under a Department of Justice Scheme which is no longer in existence.  There is no funding available to add new or move existing cameras under this scheme.

The Council and an Garda Siochana agreed to take on the maintenance and monitoring of these cameras and provision is made in the budget to maintain the cameras as necessary.  Monitoring (24/7) of the Tallaght cameras is carried out in Tallaght Garda Station."
