QUESTION NO. 18
QUESTION: Councillor R. Nolan
"Following the meeting that took place with Lucan United and the Airlie Heights Action Committee, has the Council any plans to meet with the Action Committee to answer the questions that are applicable to the Council on the issue's pertaining to them."
REPLY:
"The recent meeting (29th September 2016) took a format that questions were presented in full at the beginning of the meeting by representatives from Airlie Heights residents and were responded to by Lucan Utd.
In summary it appears that the following items raised require consideration by the Council:
- Access to site during construction
- Environmental Impact during build
- Rodents/Bats
- Reinstatement following construction
- Tree planting around perimeter of build site
- Car Parking and access road to be in place prior to build
- Licencing conditions - lights / usage times etc.
- Control access to the facility post construction for events
The Council is working through these issues at present to provide a response and understand that the Club are doing likewise in respect of a number of issues to be dealt with by them. When these are all fully issued a second facilitated meeting will be held.
In relation to registration of associations / committees, South Dublin County Council’s community development team work with groups that are just forming and/or not yet constructed in a formal way and encourage them to form themselves into associations, community councils, companies etc., which ever best suits them and advise them on their responsibilities. These groups are also encouraged to register with the Public Participative Network (PPN)."
