MOTION: Councillor C. McCann

"That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to provide a report on how often the bins are currently emptied in Sean Walsh Park. There have been numerous complaints from residents of the overflowing of bins in this area. This Committee calls on the Chief Executive to investigate is it possible to either increase the number of collections in the Park or the number of bins or increase the capacity of the bins so they do not fill so often."

REPORT:

"Following ongoing problems with the servicing of litter bins in Sean Walsh Park alternative arrangements have now been put in place for these to be serviced every day from Monday to Friday as well as on bank holiday weekends. The need to service these bins every weekend will be assessed under the litter bin review which is currently underway.  It is proposed that a number of additional litter bins will be installed in the park and this will take place in the coming weeks."
