MOTION NO. 5
MOTION: Councillor L. Dunne
"That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to remove the huge amount of rubbish that has been illegally dumped at the back of the houses on Brookview Court."
REPORT:
"All reports of illegal dumping are investigated by our Litter Warden Service, with dumped material searched for evidence.
Where evidence is found, appropriate enforcement action is taken, in accordance with the Litter Pollution Act 1997, as amended. Once examined for evidence, the dumped material is listed for removal.
One complaint for illegal dumping at Brookview Court was logged in April 2016 which was inspected and referred to public realm for collection. There were no other reports on our system for this location prior to submission of this motion.
The location will now be inspected and appropriate action as required taken.
As always the Council encourages members of the public and residents to report incidents of illegal dumping, and to assist with identification of the culprits, if known.
If there is an accumulation of household waste in the back garden of a particular property action can be taken i.e. service of notice requiring the abatement of a public health nuisance."
