Pedestrian Crossings
"In the year to date 52 pedestrian and vehicle counts have been carried out and two locations have been identified as meeting the criteria. (Esker Road and Meile an Ri). Signalised pedestrian crossings are currently being installed at these locations.
As so few locations have been identified to date it is proposed to identify sites where, should a crossing be provided, it may reasonably be considered that usage will over time increase to a sufficient level.
Four such locations have been identified in each of the 4 Area Committee regions.
The locations in Lucan are:-
- Foxborough Rd at Centra/ Bus Stop
- Old Galway Rd Palmerstown at Community Centre
- Leixlip Rd at Tay Lane
- Chapel Hill near Liffey Bridge.
The locations are not in any order and are presented for comment/discussion.
If the members wish to reply directly to the Senior Engineer Traffic on the preferred Pedestrian Crossing location in the form of first, second, third fourth preference, a tally will be kept and a weighted system used to arrive at a selected location."
