QUESTION NO. 21

QUESTION: Councillor L. Dunne

"To ask the Chief Executive for a report on the outcomes following the deputation meeting for Jobstown Celtic that was held on 23rd March 2016, also a report on what actions have been taken to date?"

REPLY:

"The following commitments were given by the Council's Public Realm Section to Jobstown Celtic at the meeting held in March -

  1. The issues of grass cutting and goalmouth repairs and costings to be examined.
  2. Biodiversity survey to be carried out on hedgerows in the park.
  3. Temporary solution of Shockwave/Slitting to be carried out on pitches to alleviate drainage issues. As a long term solution, the Councillors will look at including funding on the Capital Programme.
  4. Key for the barrier for emergency vehicles to access the pitch to be given to club.

In response to item 1, some goalmouth repairs were carried out in 2015.  It is proposed that any further goalmouth repairs which are necessary will form part of the 2017 maintenance programme and will be carried out early in the new year.

In response to item 2, the Council's heritage officer has been asked to survey the hedge rows as required.

In response to item 3, funding has now been identified for the drainage works which are required.  The necessary works will be carried out early in 2017.  It is not now intended to proceed with a temporary solution.

In response to item 4, the key has not as yet been made available to the club.  This will be addressed in the coming days."
