MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

"That the Chief Executive outlines the current expected timeframe for the commencement of the next phase of the Clonburris SDZ public consultation and its likely knock-on effect on the scheduled completion of all Council-related dealings regarding same prior to any potential future hearing by An Bord Pleanala, including an explanation for any delays to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter."

REPORT: 

"South Dublin County Council are currently working on the preparation of the draft Clonburris SDZ Planning Scheme. As part of this preparation a review was carried out of the 2008 Clonburris Planning Scheme and Local Area Plan and changes in legislation and guidance. Arising from the review it was decided that a number of issues required further assessment, including:

• Surface Water;
• Retail and Commercial floor space quantum; and
• Location and distribution of schools. 

It is anticipated that the draft Planning Scheme will go on public display at the end of the year. There will be an opportunity for the public to inspect the draft for a period of not less than 6 weeks in accordance with the provisions of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and to make submissions during the consultation period. It is intended to keep the Elected Members up to date as the SDZ Planning Scheme progresses."
