QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

"Following the recent reports where Bees have been placed on the Endangered Species list Could the CEO now confirm what plans are in place to introduce an Apiary into Waterstown Park, Palmerstown which was recently included in the County Development plan 2016-2022?"

REPLY:

"Discussions were held earlier in the spring of 2016 between the Heritage Officer and a bee keeper regarding the potential to host 2 bee hives in a secluded section of Waterstown Park. The bee keeper did not proceed with the project at that time but it is hoped to revisit this again in spring 2017."
