MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

"That the Chief Executive bring forward a report on the number on the housing waiting list for the Lucan/Palmerstown area and to indicate in his report the length of time they are on the list, the number, location and time frame for the provision of housing in the area and to make a statement on the situation, and to include in the report the number on the list with a medical or other priority need."

REPORT:

"4,110 applicants on the Council's social housing waiting list have expressed a preference for accommodation in the 'North of the Naas Road' housing area which includes Lucan and Palmerstown - of these 563 have a priority status e.g Medical or Homeless.

The table below shows numbers on the Council's social housing waiting list for the North of the Naas Road area by size of dwelling needed and average time on list - also showing is the average time on list for those housed in the area in 2016, these figures include those engaging in Choice Based Letting and priority cases."
